How to operate the date Custom Fields
Do you want to know how to take full advantage of the information you have from your Subscribers as numeric format, such as dates? Then, read this article to work with Custom Fields!
When you enter the data from your Subscribers in an Excel file to later import them into a new Doppler List, you may have to complete date type fields; that’s because you may want to base your communications on dates, anniversary, or subscription payment, among others.
When you create your List and complete each row and column with the relevant data, be sure to correctly enter the date in question.
Complete all cells of the file and when you save it to import into Doppler, we recommend NOT doing it as an Excel file (.xls) but as CSV (comma-separated values) or text (.txt).
This way you can be sure that using this Custom Field of type date, Doppler will associate what Excel brings properly.
Dates are often a critical part of the data analysis, so that Doppler and Excel interpret them correctly, they should be written as specifically as possible. Another tip is to select the entire column with numerical information, and with the right mouse button edit the Format Cell.
In Category select Date and then choose your Type. You will see a preview of your form in the Sample box with the first date of your data. If you want to use the date format that is used in a particular country or area, select the language below the regional settings (location).
Now you can import your .csv, .txt or .xls (format cell released at date) and Doppler will read your data as you entered it into the Excel to make your Campaigns a success in custom content.
